Yoga Nidra iRest – Mindful Living
One hour of ‘yogic sleep’ equals 4 hours of regular sleep
Classes, One to One Sessions and Retreat
Nidra iRest® is a modern research-based transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative enquiry based on ancient meditation teachings. These practises help build resilience and restore the nervous system from shock, over-charge or trauma which enter our system as part of our busy daily lives. Shocks that may leave us unprepared and struggling to cope.
This guided practice is suitable for any one. It can be done lying down, standing, sitting, eyes open or eyes closed. Yoga Nidra provides a self-directed means of calming the nervous system and inviting peace in the midst of a chaotic and often ruthless world.

How It Works
Yoga Nidra iRest is integrative, in that it heals the various unresolved issues, traumas and wounds that are present in the body and mind. It is restorative in that it aids its practitioners in recognising their underlying peace of mind that is always present amidst all changing circumstances of life.
Yoga Nidra iRest is typically taught as a guided meditation supporting time to reflect, allow and welcome everything that arises and changes as it unfolds moment to moment in our field of awareness.
When this happens, we become the observer not the doer. We become the one watching movements that come as distractions and we are able to recognise the fullness and constancy of who we truly are, beyond the limits of distraction.
Yoga Nidra iRest is a practice of embracing willingness to allow what life presents with all it’s daily challenges. Challenges that manifest as suffering and pain in a world of duality.
Yoga Nidra iRest is a practice anyone can learn and share in order to help find peace where there is conflict, joy where there is sadness and peace of mind where there is turmoil. iRest offers deep relaxation and opens us to the Joy of life itself.

Government grants have been established to support work iwith the military in the US and it is hoped that something similar may be established in the UK to support our War Vets for the treatment of PTSD.
Horsham Yoga offers two Monday Yoga Nidra iRest classes a week and forms the backbone of monthly workshops and retreats where an intensive yoga programme includes daily iRest.
Retreat is an invitation to go deeper into self-enquiry. It is found that with Retreats we have a longer opportunity to enquire more deeply into what we want from our life, what is holding us back and time to see what we may be willing to change in order to improve our health and enjoy life to the full.
Yoga Nidra iRest Retreats can be life-changing.
iRest was developed by Richard Miller Phd, Clinical Psychologist and Yogic Scholar and founder of the Integrative Restoration Institute Ca USA, a charity making training available to anyone wishing to enhance self-practice.
